The FIFA 16 AI has been rebuilt to work better as a unit

Obviously video games (especially games like FIFA 16) and their content should not be taken seriously enough to scrutinize but the new FIFA player rankings are just ridiculous. There is no way Silva (of Manchester City) is better than James or Modric of Real Madrid. Forget last week, James goals at the beginning of last season were phenomenal. It is safe to say that David Silva would only dream of scoring goals like that. At the very least, James should have been in the same tier of players as David Silva. That is at the very least. The driven pass option is usually highlighted in a new feature called the "FIFA Trainer," a pop-up box that appears next to the ball-controlling player. It suggests commands depending on the situation. Veterans will likely turn this off, but as a striver in this field I appreciated the reminder, not only that I could do something other than a basic pass or shot, but how to do it.

It wont take you long to spot why. This year, EA has focused on tightening up the defensive play while adding more scope for building attacks in the midfield. The AI has been rebuilt to work better as a unit, closing down on attacking players, restricting their angles of attack and giving you nhl coins more support to go in and make the tackle without worrying that your CPU controlled team-mates will fall apart and let an easy shot or threatening cross through. The midfield, meanwhile, sees revamped rapid fire pass mechanics balanced by equally smart intercept AI. Player momentum and positioning also impacts the power and trajectory of your shots. In general, youll need to pound the power bar harder than before to rip one into the top corner. If your player isnt set properly when an attempt is unleashed, however, the goalkeeper will need nothing more than a long-barrier to stop a pathetic effort rolling into his gloves.

While launching one at goal is less predictable than last year, its immediately apparent that crossing will be the method FIFA 16 online players exploit. A huge percentage of goals-for and against-come from nipping ahead of goalkeepers who simply cannot deal with crosses played on top of their position. Even Thibaut Courtois, a behemoth in the air, is easily caught out when trying to contest the ball with an ailing fist. Crowd the keeper from a corner and expect a celebration prompt within seconds. One of the bigger additions this year are women's teams. They play a lot faster than their male counterparts, making it a completely different game altogether. They're restricted to offline tournaments and online friendly matches. In spite of their inclusion, you won't be able to use them in career mode or in any other portion of FIFA 16 which seems kind of silly.

With only 12 teams to choose from and restricted to compete against other women's national teams, how EA Sports further builds on the introduction of women's teams in next year's iteration will be a point of interest. At the moment it seems like a cursory attempt at adding as many bullet points to FIFA 16 as possible. Pace and power are still as important as any other attribute, but timing - bursting past a full-back at the right instant, or shrugging off a central defender just as a crossed ball meets your strikers forehead - is now critical in using them correctly. Nowhere is this better showcased than in the newly introduced womens matches. Without the Olympian velocity of a Cristiano Ronaldo or Yaya Toures adamantine strength, finesse is imperative - that means recycling possession among midfielders and full-backs until a tantalising defensive gap offers a through-ball opportunity, or an out-of-position opponent provides a brief window hut coins sale in which to cross.
